Temporary exhibition

Opening: Tuesday, 4 July 2017

Alexandra Meyer (*1984), who received the Manor Art Prize Schaffhausen in 2017, captivates the viewer with humor and a natural lightness. With a fine sensitivity and an often surprising perspective, she deals with major questions of human existence in the interaction between body, spirit, and psyche. She uses a wide variety of media such as video, performance, photography, installations, sculpture, and drawing.

In her solo exhibition at the Museum zu Allerheiligen, the artist will present new works, including multi-part video works and a conceptual installation. The works deal with breath, air, strength, identity, traces left behind, and memory. Simple in aesthetic and with a style reduced to the essential, the artist suggests the universal and creates a striking symbolism—images that stay with us.

A native of the Schaffhausen area, Alexandra Meyer now lives in Basel, where she studied at the Academy of Art and Design.

A publication will accompany the exhibition.
