For “DOPPIO II”, curator Julian Denzler was able to win over the artist Beni Bischof (St. Gallen) and the artist duo fructuoso/wipf (Schaffhausen/Zurich). What connects their works and what is the added value of this combination? What both positions have in common is a process-oriented, dynamic way of working and the ability to work with a wide variety of media in a space-related way. In terms of content, two themes have emerged as central connecting elements for the double exhibition project: the question of the original of a work and the scope of authorship. The possibilities of the World Wide Web as a tool and research tool play an important role in the exhibition. In its poppy gaudiness, the exhibition takes its cue from the fast, colorful wiping culture of the smartphone world, inevitably calling into question the habits of seeing in spaces of high culture. In their works, the artists combine traditional media such as photography, painting, and sculpture with digital parameters such as fragment, abundance, simultaneity, interaction, and recycling.
