Special exhibition

Prolonged until 18 February 2018!

With the incorporation of Etruria into the Roman Empire in the first century BC, one of the great civilizations of antiquity disappeared into the darkness of history. The Museum zu Allerheiligen Schaffhausen will illuminate the fascinating culture of the Etruscans with an extensive special exhibition.

Some 250 objects will present a panorama of Etruscan culture and life, from the pleasures of banquets to trade, religion, fortune telling, and burial rites. The exhibits from the museum’s own collection—many of which will be presented to the public for the first time—will be supplemented with outstanding loans from Danish, German, and Swiss collections.

All main exhibition texts in German and English.

A catalog with all 235 Etruscan objects from the Ebnöther Collection will be published in German by Philipp von Zabern in Darmstadt. Many of these objects will be published and scientifically reviewed for the first time in this catalog.
