Human Perspectives
Insights into the Sturzenegger Foundation’s collection of prints and drawings from the 16th century to the present day
This representative selection of acquisitions by the Sturzenegger Foundation is based on the theme of “Human Perspectives.” On the one hand, it focuses on how humans perceive the overwhelming scale of nature, as exemplified by views of the Rhine Falls. On the other hand, it shows artists’ perspectives on people.
This showcase exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of Bank Baumann (formerly Bank Sturzenegger). The bank’s contributions allow the Sturzenegger Foundation, founded in 1987, to continue to support the museum. The founders were particularly interested in expanding the collection of prints and drawings.
