The third part of the exhibition series DOPPIO focuses on two positions in figurative painting. The painter Nadja Kirschgarten (*1979) from Stein am Rhein has previously participated in the ERNTE exhibition multiple times and successfully represented the canton of Schaffhausen at the 2018 International Lake Constance Conference. Fabian Treiber (*1986 in Ludwigsburg), who lives in Stuttgart, will be the first artist living outside Switzerland to participate as a dialogue partner in the series. The two artists complement each other both in subject matter and in their approach to painting. While Kirschgarten depicts living things in her works, Treiber contributes deserted interiors and landscapes to the exhibition. Though their color palettes show astonishing parallels, their methods of applying paint vary greatly. DOPPIO III is both artists’ first solo exhibition at a museum in Switzerland.
