The interdisciplinary exhibition Oracle is dedicated to the human need to divine the future and interpret uncertainties. It illuminates the centuries-old practice of interpreting signs in the world, whether in the flight of birds, the clouds, or modern-day data streams. Selected holdings from the museum’s collections—ranging from ancient artifacts and natural history specimens to artistic prints—reflect the diverse voices attempting to make the future readable and controllable. Who do we trust? Who do we listen to when we look for answers?
